I don't mind at all that my teaching slot is in the first batch of the day, as that then sets me up to present and then attend whatever I want for the rest of the day.

Dick's Drive-In is doing $0.19 burgers in honor of their 66th anniversary. That was the price when they first opened.
jan 28 - jan 30, each location will have the special for one day only
from the FAQ
"What does "one per customer present" mean?
- A family of five will be able to grab five 19¢ burgers only if all five people are present at the window. A single customer will not be able to receive two 19¢ burgers if their friend is waiting in the car. This was done to ensure there will be enough burgers for everyone to be able to celebrate our 66th anniversary with us."
it's just gone from pouring rain and cloudy outside, to pouring rain and blindingly sunny.

#seattle residents, especially on the North Side, please take a few minutes to examine the proposed revamp for transit that will happen when the new Link stations open. There is an opportunity to give feedback and you would be well served to take advantage of it.

Today in #Seattle there were two shootings. Downtown is a mess and busses have been re-routed since the first incident.
Cops shot a guy in Belltown just after 3pm, and then a couple hours later, a shooter killed one person and injured 6 others near Westlake before escaping.

I made the mistake of starring a GitHub repo claiming to be "A curated list of engineering blogs" at some point in the past. Today I woke up to discover that I had been subscribed to a newsletter, which says at the top that everyone who starred this repo has been non-consensually subscribed to the newsletter.
I reported the email to the provider and reported the user to GitHub, but still pretty ticked off.

the hotspot from my Android phone on T-Mobile used to only provide IPv4, despite T-Mobile's network being all IPv6. Not sure when it changed, but I just noticed today that I seem to get an IPv6 address!

ebooks that are only released with DRM are basically telling me "if you want to read this you have to pirate it" and if that's what they want, so be it. Liberate them for everyone https://thufie.lain.haus/liberation.html#free
You could also just, y'know, not publish with DRM on an ebook platform.
Aberdeen (WA) is getting quite a bit of snow. Not sure how everyone else is doing.
How are you doing #pnw -esterners?
